Studio Fit Chicago - June Member of the Month: Nancy Velazquez

Meet Nancy or “Nance,” as she’s known around Lincoln Park fitness studio, Studio Fit Chicago. Since joining the Studio Fit Boss Year, Nancy has become stronger in more ways than one.

Her favorite part? The gains are more than physical. “I can carry all the grocery bags (if I wanted to),” she jokes, “but coming to SFC has helped my mental health as much as my physical health. Lifting heavy really goes a long way.”

 

Originally without a nickname, Nancy found both a name and a new sense of self in the SFC community. She encourages other women to join for the same reason: “Ladies should join SFC so they can gain their confidence back and be bad ass!”

A Couple fun facts about Nance:

  • Favorite Local Eats: Roost Chicken & Biscuits and Sweet Mandy B’s are her go-to Chicago spots.

  • All-Time Favorite Artist: Bad Bunny (yes, always on the playlist).

What are you most proud of since joining?

From newfound strength to rediscovered confidence, Nancy is a reminder that fitness is about so much more than working out. It’s about showing up, getting stronger, and embracing your power – inside and out.

Studio Fit Chicago in Lincoln Park is a solid spot for women looking to get serious about their fitness. I signed up for their semi-private personal training sessions, which run about $35 per class. The trainers are top-notch—personalized attention, great form corrections, and a supportive atmosphere. The space is clean and welcoming, and the small class sizes mean you get the focus you need. Only downside is parking can be a bit tricky, but it's worth it.

I’ve been going to Studio Fit for 7 months now, and I’m really impressed with the overall experience. The studios are always clean, and the SFC coaches and members are friendly, making me feel welcome every time I walk in. What I love most about this gym is the atmosphere and the SFC community. The environment is motivating but not intimidating, which is great for anyone, whether you're a beginner or a seasoned gym goer. The coaches modify work outs based on your experience and mobility. I highly recommend!

I’m so glad I found Studio Fit! Their semi-private personal training approach is helping me eat better and build strength. Reyna and Haley provide a great combination of challenge and support — and it’s fun working out with like-minded women!

I’ve been a member at SFC since the summer of 2024. I love it! I was looking for an environment that I’d be comfortable getting back into a fitness routine as a mid-40 something mother of two who works full time that offered options that work with my crazy schedule. SFC has delivered! I can adjust my class schedule week to week and still make it to three sessions each week. They have created a supportive environment that met me where I was at when I joined and now pushes me to do more (and lift heavier) than sometimes I think I can. Their nutrition support has also helped me refocus on healthy eating habits. I’ve enjoyed my healthier living journey with SFC so far and look forward to continuing to prioritize my health with their support. I recommend you check them out if you’re looking for a place focused on helping women on their fitness and health journey.

Very professional and accommodating. The small classes allow for attentive instructors to ensure correct posture and adjust training based on your body needs. Cannot recommend enough!
